Sarah tested positive for the virus earlier this month just days after her husband Matthew announced his own positive test.

Their illnesses halted performances of Plaza Suite, the couple’s three-act show.

‘With both Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker positive for COVID, tonight’s performance of ‘Plaza Suite’ is cancelled,’ the show’s producers said in a statement to Variety.

‘The producers apologize for the inconvenience this has caused audience members. Ticket holders should contact their point of sale to reschedule for a future performance or obtain a refund.’

Before receiving her own positive test, Sarah performed several times with Matthew’s understudy, Tony winner Michael McGrath.

Plaza Suite was originally supposed to begin its run of previews back on March 13, 2020 but all Broadway theatres were shut down the day before due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The couple’s outing occurred after Broderick appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen and discussed how he was instantly attracted to his now-wife.

The actor noted that he fell in love with Sarah during ‘the first time I met her. I saw her walking down the street and thought “That’s it.”‘

The performer made a point of expressing that he was attracted to his now-wife’s ‘humor and wisdom,’ among other qualities.

He also recalled that Parker blindsided him with a ‘trip one time — a surprise, blindfolded, suddenly I was in the Caribbean.’

Broderick went on to state that neither he nor his wife were particularly uncomfortable with seeing each other become intimate with on-screen partners.
