“Queensland ambulance was called to a child care centre in Gracemere where a three-year-old child was unresponsive,” said Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman Jason Thompson.

“On crews’ arrival, QPS (Queensland Police Service) were already on scene.

“They escorted the crew into the child care centre where the child was on the flood in the admin area, unresponsive at that point in time.

“Crews did a quick assessment and took her to the vehicle, waiting for critical care paramedics to arrive.

“Once they did a few minutes later, the patient was stablised and transported to Rockhampton Hospital.”

Thompson said the child did not need to be intubated while being taken to hospital.

Police are investigating and multiple officers were at the scene.

A forensic examination of the bus has been launched.
